System requirements for on-device AI

Nexim can run AI models locally on your machine for offline classification and analysis.

Memory (RAM)

8 GB minimum

16 GB recommended for larger models and smoother multitasking.

Storage

10 GB free

AI models are downloaded once and cached locally. Sizes range from 1.5 GB to 9 GB per model.

Processor

Multi-core CPU

Apple Silicon (M1+) or modern x86-64 with AVX2 support. Dedicated GPU optional but speeds up inference.

Operating System

macOS / Windows

macOS 12+ (Monterey) or Windows 10/11 (64-bit). On-device AI is not available on 32-bit systems.

On-device AI is optional — Nexim works fully with cloud-based inference. Local models are ideal for air-gapped environments or when you prefer data to stay on your machine.

Automatic updates built in

Nexim checks for updates every 30 minutes and notifies you when a new version is ready. Critical updates are applied automatically.
